THEORETICAL ASPECTS OF MODERNIZATION OF THE COMMODITY CIRCULATION SPHERE AS A COMPLEX SOCIO-ECONOMIC SYSTEM
Abstract
The article is devoted to the research of theoretical aspects of the modernization of the commodity circulation sphere in economic theories. The current stage of development of the commodity circulation sphere is characterized by the expansion of the scale, the complication of its basic functions and strengthening its role in the national economy. In the conditions of deepened market orientation of the national economy, the sphere of commodity circulation acquired the features and characteristics of the complex system that contains economic, social, organizational, legal and international aspects. At the same time, the socio-economic role of the sphere of commodity circulation is increasing. Moreover, the active globalization of commodity markets requires the forced modernization of the commodity circulation sphere. Depending on the level of macroeconomic development, exogenous and endogenous factors and the direction of trade policy, the modernization of the commodity circulation sphere can be extensive and intensive. The process of modernization of commodity circulation has its specific characteristics, due to the nature of trade, the specifics of its activities, the structure of resource potential, the nature of internal and external relations. Studying the evolution of the theory of commodity circulation sphere’s modernization allows us to distinguish several of its decisive stages and their typical models. One of them is the formation of the classical theory of commodity circulation, the concepts of which involved the transition from protectionism to free trade, the transformation of the system of trade relations, the development of technological progress and labor organization. Whereas in alternative theories of commodity circulation considerable attention is paid to the demand and its determinants. The research of socio-economic modernization of the commodity circulation sphere requires not only the generalization of theoretical aspects, but also the identification of methods and methodological approaches to the study of socio-economic modernization of the commodity circulation sphere.
