Abstract

The article is devoted to the problems, essence, features and economic efficiency of the joint use of two innovative transport and logistics electronic systems - the Global Positioning System (GPS) and the automated fare collection system (e-ticket), which are now being actively implemented in public transport enterprises of Ukraine. There are not so many studies on the topic that is the subject of this scientific study. The article shows that the joint use of these systems is an effective tool for improving the management of transport enterprises and an effective factor in their economic stabilization. For the operational management of rolling stock and monitoring the effective expenditure of material resources, reliable and timely information on a number of parameters of the transport work of the enterprise is needed, which can only be provided by the joint use of both systems. It is modern systems of global positioning and electronic contactless cards as means of payment that will make it possible to build routes with the optimal distribution of rolling stock, timetables, and trajectories, with guaranteed collection of fares. At the same time, transport enterprises and city councils will be able to monitor the timely implementation of route tasks. This should give an impetus to the solution of management problems common to all domestic transport enterprises. Based on the results of the research, the management of transport enterprises will be able to make informed and founded decisions in the face of growing competition and increased risks of the enterprise. The implementation of the proposed technical and technological innovations can be fulfilled on the principles of public-private partnership. The simultaneous use of GPS and e-ticket systems (with a unified SIM card) should satisfy all participants of the transportation process: local councils, transport enterprises, and passengers.
