Abstract

The article deals with the conceptual framework of the state’s migration policy, developed by the outstanding Ukrainian scientistand economist of the XIX century M. Kh. Bunge. The origins of policy formation in the period of his scientific activity and its further implementation during the occupation of high level government positions in the Russian Empire are considered. Attention is focused onthe significant influence of representatives of the historical school and social direction in economic science on the formation of Bunge’sviews. The main directions of development of the basic principles of the state migration policy are singled out. It has been established thatreformative projects developed by M. Bunge and his socio-economic transformations have much in common with the general directionand content of modern transformational changes in the social sphere of the Ukrainian economy.
