Abstract

In the context of further democratization of power in Ukraine, public monitoring of power is of particular importance. It promotes transparency of actions of state authorities; active involvement of citizens in participation in the management and decision-making on issues related to the life of a society; strengthening the control of actions and decisions of the authorities on the part of the public. In the article, the author researched the introduction of monitoring and evaluation of power. It has been pointed out that in the more general level, there are six typical areas for which the whole evaluation of cooperation between the state-owned business and civil institutions is being developed. Typical indicators have been formed for such areas as: legislative initiatives, CSO funding, cooperation and participation, CSO development, civil society development, broader policy goals. Institutions of monitoring in the countries concerned use a wide range of tools - from computer databases to personal surveys.
