STOCK MARKET INFRASTRUCTURE IN UKRAINE

Abstract

This article is about the infrastructure of the stock market in Ukraine. It plays a major role in the process of obtaining the necessary capital by corporations. As a result, it may impede or accelerate the economic development of the country. The author shows the features of financial infrastructure. The article outlines the main problems of stock market infrastructure in Ukraine. In general, the IPO market is very small and underdeveloped in Ukraine. Those corporations that want to raise funds try to do it abroad. As a result, underwriting market is almost absent. The number of brokers was very high in Ukraine. Most of them were created to provide services for the parent company or some financial group exclusively. Their amount shrank during the previous five years. Concentration of the stock exchanges will allow to decrease fragmentation and increase liquidity on the market.
