Abstract

The article considers issues of systematization of negative consequences of social capital and analysis of their manifestations during the market transformation period. The purpose of the article is to identify formation features of negative social capital during the market transformation period. The paper considers the following key issues: a theoretical analysis of negative effects of social capital; types of negative social capital; preconditions for their formation during the market transformation period; examples of formation of negative social capital in Ukraine. The matrix of negative social capital is represented, it is created on the basis of combination of  criteria of  components and manifestation level of social capital. This matrix  can be used as a tool for analyzing the negative effects of social capital of different groups. The results of the theoretical research are illustrated by an empirical analysis based on the data of post-socialist countries' development in the period of market reforms
