Abstract

In the article explores the essence of "forest stands conversion" in domestic and foreign scientific literature. The analysis of the current state of the economic and legal regulation of secondary Norway spruce stands conversion process in the Ukrainian Carpathians is carried out. The necessity of improvement is substantiated of the legal field for implementation of such forestry measures and further formation of legislation on sustainable forest management. It has been established that the transition to such a type of forest requires not only the adoption of relevant laws, but also systematic and consistent actions to create an effective management system for compliance with this legislation at all levels of forestry management.
