MORTGAGE LENDING AND ITS IMPACT ON THE LAND MARKET (POLTAVA EXPERIENCE AND LESSONS)

It is generalized historical experience of the land market in Poltava region after the abolition in 1861 of serfdom and the implementation of other agricultural reforms of the second half of XIX th – early XX th c. It is found the basic ways of development in terms of market economic relations in buying and selling of farmland by different social groups of that time population of the region. It is proved that the main factor in the mobilization of land, their transition from one owner to another was the creation in 70–80 years of theXIX th century public and private long-term bank loan on very favourable terms for the buyer. A direct consequence of the land market was improving the efficiency of the entire agricultural sector, increasing productivity of grain crops and increasing all gross agricultural production in our region.
