Abstract

The problems of increasing the social efficiency of environmental costs are researched. It is determined that it is necessary to assess the social loss not only in kind, but also in value. The main directions of the monetary evaluation of human life are analyzed. Formulas are proposed for the valuation of social damage and the magnitude of social damage that can be avoided under the influence of environmental costs. It is emphasized that the social effect can be represented as the sum of the economic effects of environmental costs to prevent the loss of products due to morbidity, the reduction of payments from the social insurance fund, the reduction of society’s costs of treatment due to environmental pollution, labor productivity as a result of the normalization of the environmental situation.
