DIVERSIFICATION OF THE MARKET OF NATURAL GAS OF THE EU AND UKRAINE IN THE CONTEXT OF IMPROVING THE EFFECTIVENESS OF FOREIGN ECONOMIC POSITIONS OF COUNTRIES

Abstract

The article proposes approaches to assessing the effectiveness of foreign economic positions of countries. The connection between diversification of import of energy resources, in particular of natural gas, and the state of trade balance of countries is determined. The dynamics and structure of Ukraine’s balance of payments in 2014-2017 are studied. The effectiveness of Ukraine’s foreign economic position and its stability are evaluated. The experience of the EU countries in the diversification of import of energy resources, in  particular of natural gas, has been studied. Specific measures for diversification of the natural gas supplies to Ukraine are proposed.
